Access your Linux Apps on Windows using Ulteo Virtual Desktop

by Jerome Locson on May 23rd, 2008

Now you can access you favorite Linux Apps like Firefox web browser, Thunderbird email client, OpenOffice.org office suite, multi-IM software such as Kopete and ect. with the use of the new Ulteo Virtual Desktop (Beta). Now allowing you to access your Linux system, synchronization is also easy among users of your Ulteo systems.

After installing Ulteo Virtual Desktop, a menu will be accessible in the panel allowing you to lunch your open source applications. Resources are also shared like you can print directly from your Linux Apps in your Windows printer and play music or video with audio support. Cool!

Here’s the Hardware & software recommendation:

  • Ulteo Virtual Desktop requires a PC (x86-based) with a modern 32-bit CPU and at least 512MB RAM. At least 4 GB of free HD space is required.
  • A PDF reader is needed.
  • For a better experience, we recommend a DualCore CPU and 1GB RAM.
  • Ulteo Virtual Desktop has been tested successfully on Windows XP and Windows Vista (32-bit only for now).
