eBay Desktop beta

Ebay, the e-commerce giant, recently launched their new tool for their users - eBay Desktop beta. Prior to this launching, the project was dubbed as Project San Dimas. The application allows users to interactive directly from their website, both online and offline.

Remember the Adobe AIR technology? Yes! eBay Desktop was developed using that technology which is available for Windows and Mac OS platforms, and is reportedly will support Linux soon.

Alan Lewis, eBay Desktop product manager spoke on this new development: “The desktop is interesting again, now that you can do things that go beyond what the browser can do, but leveraging the same technology.”
