Backing up or file sharing problem? Driveway.com offers 2GB free file sharing over the web to selected recipients. It also goes with some widgets for you desktop, web and also provides a plugin. The Driveway Desktop Widget lets you create multi-user capable editable links for your office documents. You can directly edit shared documents at driveway with a click from desktop shortcut or browser using Microsoft Office. While on the other hand, the web widget lets you view and share one or more files of any type - audio, video, pictures or Office. This widget can be embedded in any blog or website.

Depending on the usage, you have the option to ‘Send Files for Read’ or ’Send Files for Edit’. The first allows the file to only be downloaded and read, while the second lets you edit the file.
As a file owner, if you had entered your e-mail id while uploading the files, then you would receive confirmation e-mail with links to read or edit file (depending on the option selected during upload) and file delete. If not, a confirmation page would display the link to read or edit file. The said file cannot be deleted.
To share files, the e-mails of both the file owner and the recipient’(s) are required. The recipient will receive an e-mail containing file read/edit links to the shared files.
Note: Currently, ’Send Files for Edit’ option is available only for .doc, .xls and .ppt office files.
