Google Office is Live
Looks like Google hasn’t just been focusing on their YouTube purchase and nothing else. The pseudo-tagged “Google Office” is now available at http://docs.google.com.
Google Office isn’t quite accurate though, the name on the site itself is Google Docs & Spreadsheet. Pretty boring don’t you think? And too long! I doubt they could have really gotten away with Google Office, but maybe something more fitting like Google Desk or something.
Welcome to Google Docs & Spreadsheets!
With Google Docs & Spreadsheets, you can:
- Use our online editor to format documents, spell-check and more.
- Upload Word documents, OpenOffice, RTF, HTML or text.
- Download documents to your desktop as Word, PDF and more.
- View your documents’ revision history and roll back to any version.
Plus, since its online, you can:
- Invite others to share your documents by e-mail address.
- Edit documents online with whomever you choose.
- Publish documents online to the world, or to just who you choose.
- Post your documents to your blog.
Again, it’s not replacing Word and Excel or even TextPad for me at this point, but another online application can’t be bad. Too each his own. Now stop doing what you’re doing and go watch some .
