Lorem Ipsum Dictionary
How many times have you been working on a document and needed to put in some dummy text to get an idea of how things were going to look? The common thing to do is paste some lorem ipsum text into your document, which helps you visualize the end product while you’re waiting for real text to be written.
BUT! How many times after you’ve done that have you looked at your document with all those squiggly red lines all over that text and thought it kind of hinders seeing the final product?
I’m not sure why I didn’t think of it before, but I decided I’d go into preferences for Microsoft Word 2007 and add all the Latin lorem ipsum words into the dictionary so it would show me the squiggly lines anymore. After getting in there, I saw that I can add a completely separate dictionary for my lorem ipsum text.

If you’re interested in adding your own Lorem Ipsum Dictionary to word, you can dowload the text file I used here.

Instead of copying and pasting… why not use the =lorem() function in Word 2007? It spits out the Lorem Ipsum text, without having to go and copy from an external site.
I have put together a write up on how you can use the =lorem() function in Word 2007, you can find it at http://thenewpaperclip.com/2006/09/14/lorem-ipsum-and-other-random-filler-text-in-word-2007-powerpoint-2007-and-excel-2007/

Thanks so much for sharing that tip with us. Is there a way to control how much text is inserted?
