Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign file converter

by Jerome Locson on December 9th, 2007

Desktop Publishing is always everywhere now a days. In it’s early digital age, many publishing companies uses Microsoft Publisher and some uses its competitor’s software. Personally, I was also into Microsoft Publisher to do brochures, letterheads, postcards, and calling cards. I bet some are still using it now a days but I already shifted to a more advanced tool from Adobe called Adobe InDesign. Working with InDesign gives me more flexibility with my layouts and it offers many of design options and tools.

If you happened playing with this two desktop publishing tools and want to work Microsoft Publisher files directly into Adobe InDesign, here’s a thing to try - PUB2ID - Microsoft Publisher To Adobe InDesign.

pub2id.gifPUB2ID (Microsoft Publisher to Adobe InDesign) is a plug-in for Adobe InDesign. It provides a quick, easy and affordable method for you to migrate all your Microsoft Publisher content into new Adobe InDesign documents. The conversion is enabled with a single click using the InDesign File->Open menu. No more re-creating documents from scratch; PUB2ID gives you a big head-start. (more details here)

There is no trial version but you can request a demo. Markzware, the software publishing company, hopefully will soon have a trial version download. PUB2ID v1.51 is compatible for Macintosh and Windows PC. You can buy the licensed software at a cost of $199.00 single license.
