OpenOffice.org OpenXML Translator

It is a fact that there are people who does not use Microsoft Office at all times, especially when we are not using a single PC for our document processing. One may be running a Windows-based system, the other runs Linux.  File format compatibility is now the main concern when doing editing of documents in either of this environment.

Commonly, Linux runs OpenOffice.org and Windows runs MS Office, sometimes also has OpenOffice.org installed. Supposing that currently you created a document with Microsoft Office 2007, that is already of a OpenXML-format (e.g .docx, .xlsx, .pptx), and wants to edit that on another PC with OpenOffice.org suite? The problem there is that OpenOffice.org does not recognize that format yet.

But no worries because we can still edit the document with the help of  an OpenOffice.org OpenXML Translator.

The OpenXML Translator provides support for opening and saving Microsoft* OpenXML-formatted word processing documents (.docx) in OpenOffice.org.
