An Internet connection and a 25-character product key are required to get started. Your product key is located on the inside of your Office Prepaid Starter Kit. No additional software is required to activate your subscription. You can renew your subscription a month before it expires or anytime thereafter with an Office Prepaid Renewal card. If your subscription does expire, your Microsoft Office Prepaid Edition will go into reduced functionality mode, allowing read-only and print-only access to files created during the subscription period.
Recently, the program was introduced in India, where software piracy is an ordinary thing as well as to other parts of Asia. It was also introduced earlier in South Africa and Romania according to reports.
“We are seeing strong demand from small and medium businesses in India. Office productivity solutions like the 2007 Microsoft Office helps them be more responsive and efficient in an increasingly competitive marketplace,” Microsoft India director, information worker business group Sanjay Manchanda said.
I believe that Microsoft should not only offer this flexible licensing to Microsoft Office but to other softwares as well. And this program is a good thing to initiate eliminating piracy.
